Privacy policy

We have written this privacy policy to explain, in accordance with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), what information we collect, how we use data, and what choices you, as a visitor to this website, have. Unfortunately, these explanations often sound very technical by nature, but we have made every effort to describe the most important aspects as simply and clearly as possible.

Automatic data storage

When you visit websites nowadays, certain information is automatically created and stored, and the same applies to this website. When you visit our website, as you are doing now, our web server (the computer where this website is hosted) automatically stores data such as the IP address of your device, the addresses of the visited subpages, details about your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.), as well as the date and time of access. We do not use this data and generally do not share it, but we cannot rule out the possibility that this data may be reviewed in the case of unlawful behavior.

Storage of personal data

Personal data that you electronically transmit to us via this website, such as your name, email address, address, or other personal information provided through a form submission or blog comments, is used by us along with the time of submission and the IP address solely for the purpose specified. This data is securely stored and not shared with third parties. We use your personal data exclusively for communication with visitors who explicitly request contact and for processing the services and products offered on this website. We do not share your personal data without your consent; however, we cannot rule out the possibility that this data may be reviewed in the case of unlawful behavior. If you send us personal data via email—thus outside of this website—we cannot guarantee secure transmission or the protection of your data. We recommend that you never send confidential data unencrypted via email.

Cookies

Our website uses HTTP cookies to store user-specific data. A cookie is a small data packet that is exchanged between a web browser and a web server, but is completely meaningless to both and only becomes relevant for the web application, such as an online shop, where it might store the contents of a virtual shopping cart. There are two types of cookies: first-party cookies are created by our website, and third-party cookies are created by other websites (e.g., Google Analytics). There are three categories of cookies: essential cookies to ensure the basic functionality of the website, functional cookies to ensure the website’s performance, and targeted cookies to improve the user experience. We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit. If you do not want this, you can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and allow it only in individual cases. You can delete cookies that are already on your computer or disable cookies at any time. The procedure varies by browser, so it is best to search for instructions on Google using the term “delete cookies Chrome” or “disable cookies Chrome” if you use the Chrome browser, or replace “Chrome” with the name of your browser, such as Edge, Firefox, or Safari. If you generally do not allow us to use cookies, i.e., if you disable them via your browser settings, some functions and pages may not work as expected.

Google Analytics Privacy policy

We use Google Analytics by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) on this website to statistically evaluate visitor data. Google Analytics uses targeted cookies for this purpose. For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/en.html or https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Pseudonymization

Our objective, in accordance with the GDPR, is to improve our offerings and our website. Since the privacy of our users is important to us, user data is pseudonymized. Data processing is carried out based on the legal provisions of § 96 (3) TKG, as well as Article 6 (1) (a) (consent) and/or (f) (legitimate interest) of the EU GDPR.

With the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, dc.js), website visitors can prevent Google Analytics from using their data. You can prevent Google from collecting data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Google Analytics data processing addendum

We have entered into a direct customer agreement with Google for the use of Google Analytics by accepting the “Data Processing Addendum” in Google Analytics. You can find more information about the Data Processing Addendum for Google Analytics here.

Google Analytics IP anonymization

We have implemented Google Analytics IP anonymization on this website. This feature was developed by Google to ensure that this website complies with applicable data protection regulations and the recommendations of local data protection authorities, which may prohibit the storage of full IP addresses. Anonymization or masking of the IP address occurs as soon as the IP addresses are received by the Google Analytics data collection network, before any storage or processing of the data takes place. More information on IP anonymization can be found here.

Google Analytics reports on demographic characteristics and interests

We have enabled advertising reporting features in Google Analytics. The reports on demographic characteristics and interests include data on age, gender, and interests. This allows us to get a better understanding of our users without being able to associate this data with individual persons. You can learn more about the advertising features here. You can opt out of the use of your Google account’s activities and information by unchecking the box under “Ad Settings” here.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation, and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection laws or that your data protection rights have been infringed in any other way, you can file a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority, whose website can be found at https://www.dsb.gv.at/.
